"The revocation check should begin with young men traveling alone who receive social assistance, i.e. who do not work and are on the state's pocket. People such as doctors or nurses who work have the opportunity to switch to a work residence permit," said the domestic policy spokesman for the CDU/CSU parliamentary group, Alexander Throm, to the editorial network Germany (RND) in advance.

In parallel with the revocation, a better program is needed to promote the voluntary return of Syrian refugees. “This is intended to increase the incentive to leave voluntarily. Because every voluntary departure is cheaper than forced deportation,” says Throm. According to Throm, the draft budget for 2027 already provides for an increase in funds for voluntary departure. The newspaper writes that the premiums are currently ‌1,000 euros for each ‌adult.
