Oktoberfest wish from Christian Specht: “But it could be that I don’t like it after all”

C hristian Specht, born in 1969, is politically active and advocates for more opportunities for people with disabilities to participate in the media. Since 2017 he has been the first person with a disability on the board of Lebenshilfe Berlin. If he wants, he will draw us the “woodpecker of the week”.

This is the Wiesn, the Oktoberfest in Munich. It was opened for the first time by a green mayor, Dominik Krause.

At the opening, the mayor always opens a large barrel of beer. That's funny! But Markus Söder probably still didn't like it. Because a green guy did it. Although: He would probably have had something against the SPD too.

The taz is an independent, left-wing and opinionated daily newspaper. We have been arguing in our comments, essays and debate texts since the taz was founded in 1979. We often cannot and do not want to agree on an opinion. That's why you'll find some completely opposing positions here - all part of the very broad left-wing spectrum of opinions.

There is also a maypole in the picture. It's called the Maypole, but it's still at the Oktoberfest. It always looks great when a maypole like this is set up on a square. This is a great tradition in Bavaria.

I also think the beer mugs are great, so they had to be included in the picture. The beer has become really expensive. The innkeepers are now charging over 14 euros per liter. Unfortunately you have to return the jugs, even though they are so beautiful. It's better not to steal them. If you get caught, it's definitely not nice.

My wish is to take a closer look at it all, perhaps as a birthday present. I've never been to the Oktoberfest, but I want to know what it's like there. But it could be that I don't like it when it's completely full and a lot of people are drunk. Some people can't behave then. Many women who work there probably don't like that either because they are often groped. They just want to make money.

Gingerbread hearts are much better than grabbing them. I also received some as gifts, but ate all but one. I don't know what it says, but it hangs in my apartment. Protocol: Johannes Drosdowski
