Wochentaz podcast: Drugged and raped – Pelicot cases in Germany

When the border to the Spanish enclave of Ceuta was briefly open at the end of July, thousands of young Moroccans tried to come to Spain. Among them was 26-year-old footballer Faten El Aziz, who drowned while trying to escape. taz reporter Christian Jakob visited Faten's mother at home in Morocco. He reports on a place where Europe and Africa are closer than anywhere else.

There are currently trials going on all over Germany against men who drug, rape and film their partners. Doctors, police and courts first have to learn how to deal with such Pelicot cases, reports Nadine Conti, Lower Saxony correspondent for the taz. She watched the court hearings on the Pelicot case in Hanover.
