State election in Saxony-Anhalt | BSW wants to talk to AfD

As a spokesman for the BSW announced on Wednesday evening, the state executive board voted unanimously in the evening to speak to the AfD. "At the meeting with the AfD we will discuss the topics of energy supply, education and peace policy," he explained. He did not provide any information about the place or time.

Before the meeting in the evening, BSW state chief Thomas Schulze said: "What we said in the election campaign still applies to us: we are fundamentally prepared to talk to all parties." The rejection of talks by other parties is "bad political behavior" and "not a good sign for the democratic culture in our country."

The AfD clearly won the state elections in Saxony-Anhalt on Sunday with 43.8 percent. However, the party narrowly missed an absolute majority. Your top candidate Ulrich Siegmund is claiming the government contract for himself. It is still unclear whether and how he could become prime minister.

The AfD in Saxony-Anhalt is classified as definitely right-wing extremist by the state Office for the Protection of the Constitution. The CDU, SPD, Greens and Left exclude any cooperation with her, this also applies outside of Saxony-Anhalt. dpa/nd
