'People don't want Iran to have nuclear weapon': Trump defends higher oil prices
US President Donald Trump has said the increase in oil prices was a sacrifice worth making in order to stop Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, while predicting petrol prices would drop to pre-conflict levels when the war with Iran ends.
“I think most people, if they had a vote on lower gas prices or letting Iran have a nuclear weapon, I’d be willing to vote that it’d be a massive landslide – people don’t want Iran to have a nuclear weapon,” Trump said while speaking to the press at White House.
“And you know what, they won’t.”
Trump also claimed that the US is winning the war “very handily” and that it will end soon, a day after he said he was considering whether to “annihilate” Iran.
