(KI) War on war - we do not enlist!

On May 8th, the day of victory over fascism, hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets in Europe. Historically, the day shows us an example of why we have to fight against war, militarization and rearmament. This year, the school strike against conscription also took place on the day of liberation from Hitler's fascism. 50,000 students and young people were on the streets in Germany and made it clear why we are against conscription and the German state's advancing war preparations. Young people don't want to go to war, they want a future! War is not in our interest! We don't want to die for the profit and power interests of bigwigs and politicians.

This year, international mobilization took place against conscription and war under this motto. Various actions have taken place across Europe, including here in Kiel.

There are many different arms companies in Kiel, such as Rheinmetall or Thyssenkrupp Marine Systems, which have recorded record profits in recent years, while children in Gaza are dying from their weapons. Kiel is a central place in Germany when it comes to rearmament and war preparations.

This is precisely why it is important to continue to actively fight against war, militarization and rearmament here on site. It is just as important to network internationally and to name and attack the common enemy, the rulers and the rich. No matter whether in France, Italy, Switzerland or here in Germany: We have to organize and act ourselves! It is important to repeatedly make clear our shared interest in breaking with the capitalist system and thus ending the exploitation and oppression of the working class. The antimilitarist struggle must therefore always be thought of and conducted in an internationalist manner.

European youth are ready to take to the streets and stand up for their interests. The message is clear: War on War! We don't list!
