Café Arranca: Kurdistan between the peace process and imperialist interests

The MENA region has long since become the scene of imperialist wars and geopolitical power struggles. Societies and peoples that adhere to the nation-state logic are hit particularly hard
resist and formulate your own alternatives. An example of this is the Kurdish movement, which has initiated a new peace process with the Turkish state in the midst of global militarization and warmongering. The lecture first examines the consequences of imperialism and nationalism on Kurdish society.  He also traces the different interests of key geopolitical actors in the region. Furthermore, it is about concrete alternatives. The focus is on the peace efforts of the Kurdish movement. The Kurdish Women's Council Amara invites you to develop an international perspective together and discuss our role as left-wing movements for peace across society.

The event takes place as part of the monthly Café Arrancas, where vegan food is served from 7 p.m. and the lecture starts at 8 p.m.
