This year too, anti-feminists and Christian fundamentalists walked through Cologne at the “March for Life”. Under the guise of supposedly “protecting life”, they are calling for a ban on abortions and deliberately presenting themselves as harmless. But a friendly coat of paint and a few colorful balloons cannot hide what it's really about: control over our bodies and the maintenance of patriarchal power relations. We should be forced back into their “traditional” world view, into the role of housewife and mother. Behind this is a network of anti-feminist actors and organizations.

Opus Dei is a Christian fundamentalist organization that specifically attacks the self-determination of women and queers. They are well connected internationally and are particularly influential here in Cologne. They spread their reactionary worldview through their own churches, youth and study centers. They have close connections to the “March for Life” in Cologne.

We won't leave this unanswered! In times of a shift to the right and rising anti-feminism, it is even more important that we fight back in an organized manner. No matter what reasons you put forward, whether religion or morals, it is clear to us: our self-determination is non-negotiable! We won't allow ourselves to be pushed back one step. We are fighting against anti-feminist actors in our city. We are fighting against this system in which our bodies are controlled and exploited.
