Court decides: Kubitschek's daughter is not allowed to go to school

“Whoever shouts is wrong” is written on the sign. The young woman holds the supposedly democratic message over her head with both hands. She is dressed entirely in black on this day at the Leipzig Book Fair. She looks energetic, her long hair is tied in a ponytail. She positioned herself at the Antaios Publishing stand.

But she is not one of the critics of the right-wing extremist publisher. The scene dates from spring 2018: At that time, the daughter of publishing director Götz Kubitschek expressed solidarity with Antaios together with other comrades from the Identitarian Movement. She stayed true to the scene. The Saxon Higher Administrative Court has now decided: Alruna H. is not allowed to become a teacher.

Anyone who saw Alruna H. in Leipzig on those days knew that the future teacher training student was not just Kubitschek's daughter. She is considered to be particularly opinionated among her siblings. As early as 2017, she was in the front row of an aggressive demonstration by the Identitarian Movement in Berlin, which the Office for the Protection of the Constitution classifies as definitely right-wing extremist. In an interview, the young woman in the floral dress defiantly confessed to “fighting for Germany” and warned against the “big exchange,” a right-wing conspiracy narrative.

In August of this year, Alruna H. wanted to start her traineeship at the Dresden-Cotta high school. Parents at the school are said to have noticed the name. The State Office for Schools and Education was called in and checked whether there were any violations of the duty to adhere to the constitution. The State Office for the Protection of the Constitution reported that the applicant took part in events organized by the right-wing extremist Institute for State Policy (IfS) from 2022 to 2025. The IfS, which Kubitschek co-founded, was officially dissolved in 2024 after the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution classified the think tank as “certainly right-wing extremist” in 2023.

The admission to the traineeship that had already been granted was withdrawn. Alruna H. filed an urgent application before the Dresden Administrative Court and then before the Higher Administrative Court in Bautzen. She justified her presence at the IfS events with family connections. The courts did not follow the argument. Rather, the Higher Administrative Court found that teachers had to demonstrate a minimum level of loyalty to the constitution. With Alruna H. that is doubtful. She is not allowed to complete a traineeship; This means that she cannot work as a civil servant or as an employee in the school service.

Raising children was important to Alruna H. from an early age. She tried to recruit young people from the scene at the nationalist cadre factory, the “Freibund”, formerly the “Bund Heimattreuer Jugend” (BHJ). The predecessor association BHJ was previously headed by Gernot Mörig, who organized the Potsdam meeting in 2023.

In 2018 she welcomed children and young people for a trip to the Dutch island of Ameland at the bus station in Hanover. According to its own statements, the Freibund is working on a homogeneous “national community”; gender mainstreaming is seen as “political gender leveling by the state”.

At the same time, Alruna H. was rarely absent from major Identitarian actions, for example in Halle, or carried their front banner in Berlin with the inscription "Europe. Youth. Reconquista". In 2017, she attended a ethnic May dance in the house of the anti-Semitic “Association for the Knowledge of God” (Ludendorff) with her future husband.

In 2024, the couple and their toddler came to a neo-Nazi traditional festival in Cossen near Chemnitz. Her husband also comes from a family that is closely linked to this scene. His father was a member of the banned “Species Community – Germanic Religious Community”. In July he worked as a doctor at the “Youth in the Storm” martial arts event organized by the small militant party “III. Weg” in Hilchenbach. The rejection of Alruna H.'s urgent application by the Higher Administrative Court cannot be appealed.
