Yemeni army says it stopped Houthi attack, killing 12

The armed forces of Yemen's Riyadh-backed government say fighters thwarted a Houthi infiltration attempt in the al-Fuliahan sector, in southern Marib, killing 12 Houthi fighters and injuring others.

The remaining Houthi fighters fled the scene, the army said in an official statement posted on X.

Escalating fighting between the Houthi group and government forces has forced many Yemenis to flee their homes, according to a Reuters report.
