US defence secretary calls Washington Post report on US troop deaths a ‘lie’
We earlier reported that more US troops have died during the US-Israeli war with Iran than the Pentagon has publicly disclosed, according to a report by the Washington Post, citing six anonymous US officials.
US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth denied the report on the underreporting of US service member deaths during the war on Iran, saying that it is a “complete lie”.
In a post on his X account, Hegseth said the article is “disgusting and fake”.
