Trump administration prepares to sanction ICC, WSJ reports
The Trump administration is preparing to impose sanctions on the International Criminal Court, the Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday, citing officials.
The sanctions would forbid most transactions with the ICC after a grace period of six to seven months, the report said, citing documents viewed by the Journal.
Just days after he assumed power in late January 2025, President Donald Trump signed an executive order to sanction the ICC over its investigations into top Israeli officials.
Netanyahu and his then-defence minister, Yoav Gallant, were issued arrest warrants in November 2024 over war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Gaza since October 2023, alongside three Hamas leaders, who have since been killed by Israel.
