Top US Senate Democrat says Iran war 'must end'
US Senate Democrat leader Chuck Schumer said on Wednesday that the Iran war "must end", adding that his party's incoming majority in Congress could use their control over government funding to put pressure on the Trump administration to do so.
"This war must end. It must end," AFP reported that Schumer told journalists, noting that the "power of the purse" is "one of the ways of deterring a president who does war without the consent of the American people."
This comes after Vice President JD Vance blamed the US war on Iran for the Republican party's failures during the midterm elections.
