Israeli court says government violates ruling on Red Cross visits to Palestinian prisoners

Israel’s Supreme Court has ruled that the government is violating its order to allow the International Committee of the Red Cross to visit Palestinian prisoners, Haaretz reported.

The judges said the government must permit visits to detention facilities “with the required speed”, noting that more than three months had passed since the original ruling.

They gave the government until 11 October to say whether it had completed arrangements to resume the visits.
