Argentina's Milei attacks UN as a 'useless organisation'

Beginning his address to the United Nations General Assembly, Argentinian President Javier Milei accused the UN of becoming a “useless organisation whose only purpose is to sustain a cast of… arrogant parasites masquerading as well-intentioned bureaucrats.”

He criticised the UN’s stance on Israel saying  that “the alleged defenders of human rights have sheltered bloodthirsty dictatorships and regimes that stone women in the streets”.

“They have systematically voted against Israel while remaining silent in the face of Islamic terrorism and the genocide of Christians in Africa,” Milei added in his speech at the UN headquarters in New York on Wednesday.

The president also stated that Argentina has “unequivocally aligned” itself with the West and shares a “deep affinity of values” with the US and Israel.

“That is why we condemn the attacks by the Iranian regime against the state of Israel. We have designated the Iranian Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organisation”, he said.
