She is in preventive detention for the second time. Carmen's current cell is near a cell where fellow prisoners who are considered mentally disturbed by the prison are often sent to. These are sometimes quiet, or very loud: screaming for hours, banging on walls and doors. This obviously bothers and puts a lot of stress on Carmen, but at the same time simply locking her away is not a solution.
