There is a difference between living and surviving!

This world, the so-called “real world” is just a facade. Pull back the curtain and you'll notice that the libraries are full of runaways writing novels, that the highways are full of refugees and sympathizers, that all the secretaries and sensible parents are tugging at their chains, looking for a chance to show how alive they still are... And all this talk about "objectivity" and "responsibility" is just a threat and a bluff so that we don't dare touch one another's hands to reach out to the world that lies so close before us.

There is a difference between living and surviving.

Whatever medicine tries to tell us… There is a difference between living and surviving. You need more than a heartbeat and a functioning brain to be alive. Being alive, being alive, is something much more profound and magnificent than biochemical reactions. Medical devices measure our blood pressure and body temperature, but they overlook our desires, passions and love. All the things that breathe meaning into our lives. In order to give our lives meaning again, to demand the greatest possible from them, we have to define life in a completely new way. We need to free ourselves from its mere clinical definitions and embrace definitions that have more to do with what we actually feel.

While we're at it: How much life do we actually feel in our lives? How often do you wake up in the morning and feel truly liberated? Do you feel the excitement of being alive and can't wait to experience a new day? How often do you fall asleep at night feeling self-realized and satisfied when you think about the events of the past day? Many of us believe that everything has already been decided without us, as if life is not a creative act but something that happens to us. That's exactly what it means to not be alive. This means mere survival. This is what it means to be a zombie. And so we have created our own corpse houses, in the offices, the video games, the department stores, the factories and in front of the television. Of course, housewives and middle-class employees fear risk and change like death. They cannot imagine that there is anything that can have meaning other than their material security. Their hearts may still beat, but they no longer believe in their dreams, let alone chase them. They created their own coffin. They call it an office or TV chair.

But there is still a fire of life burning in some of us. They begin to pursue their dreams and break out of their old everyday patterns. They care about what they love (and about discovering what they hate in the process). They begin to dream, question the things around them and act outside the boundaries of routine and regulations. Others watch them, see people who dare to live more creatively, adventurously, freely and demandingly than they ever thought possible and will gradually join them. This will be the beginning of the revolution. Once enough people have adopted this way of life, a critical mass will have emerged and society will change on its own. From this moment on, the world will transform: from the frightening and alienating place it is now to a place full of possibilities where we can take our lives into our own hands and make our dreams a reality.

So do what you actually want to do with your life, whatever it is! But to be sure you get what you want, first think carefully about what it really is and how you want to get it. Analyze the world around you and you will find out which people and forces are working against your wishes and which are on your side... And how you can work with us. We're out here, living life to the fullest, waiting for you... Riding black on freight trains across America. We organize the resistance in French schools. We write wonderful letters at sunrise in Bangkok. We dance to the music of the clanging windows of multinational corporations. We made love in your company's bathroom and just sneaked out when you came back for your lunch break.

Life is waiting for you with us. On the tops of unclimbed mountains, in the smoke of campfires and burning buildings, in the arms of lovers who completely turn our world around. Come on! Join us!
