Health Minister Aden Duale said a Kenyan citizen who arrived in the country on Saturday from Congo had been isolated and treated at Nairobi Hospital. The patient tested positive for Ebola after developing symptoms associated with hemorrhagic fever.
BULGARIA: Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev said two commercial vessels were struck by drones today in the first attack on shipping in the Nato member’s exclusive economic zone in the Black Sea.
“It is a blatant violation of international law and maritime law,” Mr Radev said.
The Togo-flagged Alfa Watan sank at the scene. There was no immediate word on the crew’s fate, he said.
The second vessel, the Palau-flagged Able, caught fire after the attack.
The origin of the drones was not immediately established.
SPAIN: Spain’s government today approved urgent measures on the country’s housing crisis similar to those rejected by parliament last week, after an outbreak of violence the night before in the coastal city of Barcelona saw tens of thousands taking to the streets.
What began as a massive peaceful march turned violent when groups of hundreds of activists clashed with police.
GERMANY: A former head of Germany’s foreign intelligence service was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion that he had passed state secrets to a foreign intelligence service, the federal prosecutor’s office said.
August Hanning is “strongly suspected of treasonous espionage and attempted treason,” the federal prosecutor’s office said in a statement.
The statement did not reveal on whose behalf he is suspected of spying.
