Under the union’s deal with Edinburgh Airport Services, drivers, baggage handlers and customer services staff will receive a 5.75 per cent rise in basic pay, a 5 per cent boost to shift allowances backdated to January plus a one-off £230 payment.

Unite negotiators also secured a new bonus scheme which could net workers up to £250 and an agreement that pay in 2027 will increase by 0.5 per cent above RPI inflation.

Welcoming workers’ endorsement of the deal, Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: “Unite delivers for our members.

“This is a good deal for our members at Edinburgh airport which builds on the recent progress made with the company.  If you want better jobs, pay, and conditions: join Unite.”

Unite industrial officer Carrie Donoghue said: “Our members overwhelmingly backed this deal.

“It will increase pay and shift rates above the rate of inflation alongside a one-off payment to recognise the hard work our members do for Edinburgh Airport Services at Edinburgh airport.”
