Mr Miguel Colina urged TUC delegates to support Motion 76 from the Prison Officers Association today, calling for “an end to the siege of Cuba, the extraterritorial sanctions on the country and the threats of military intervention.

“Support the Cuba Vive appeal” (which has raised over half a million pounds in medical and humanitarian aid for Cuba), “involve more trade unions, more branches” in Cuba solidarity, he urged.

The fringe meeting showcased Cuba’s overwhelming support among trade unions, with speakers from Unison, the NEU, FBU, PCS and POA, as well as from the TUC and Thompson’s Solicitors.
