Staff at law publication Legalease to take strike action next week

DOZENS of low-paid editorial, research and publishing staff at law publication firm Legalease are to take further strike action next week.

Workers at Legal 500, the publication by Legalease which lists top firms and lawyers worldwide, are struggling on low salaries while living in London, Unite said.

They have already rejected a 3.4 per cent pay offer and a revised £1,200 uplift, and have been on strike since September 14.

They will now extend their strike from September 28 until October 2.

Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: “These workers are seriously underpaid for a skilled role in the UK’s most expensive city.

“Legalease might produce the industry bible of top law firms, but it is racing to the bottom of the worst publishing companies with the continued denial of decent pay to staff.”

Unite regional officer Will Searby said: “Legalease can afford a decent pay rise for its staff so they can live with dignity in London.”

Legalease was approached for comment.
