HORSE RACING: Najidi Storm became the shortest-priced loser in British racing history when the 1/33 favourite was beaten into second place, finishing a length-and-a-half behind 10/1 shot Wreck it Ronnie in Tuesday’s first race at Goodwood. 

On the rest of the card defending champion jockey, Oisin Murphy, saddled a four-timer from five rides but is still 16 winners behind current leader Billy Loughnane.

MEN’S RUGBY UNION: Perennial Premiership wooden spooners Newcastle have now signed 25 players ahead of the new season.
