The Canadians finished 10th in Paris four years ago while the Cubans, ranked 16th in the world, have not qualified for the past two tournaments. Cuba won their only Olympic volleyball medal in Montreal 50 years ago when they picked up the bronze.

Los Angeles will host the 2028 Olympics.
