Labour was on the rocks — now it’s on a life raft far from shore, Socialist Campaign Group rally hears

LABOUR was “on the rocks” under Keir Starmer but is now on the “life raft,” trade union group of MPs leader Ian Lavery told a packed Socialist Campaign Group (SCG) rally on Tuesday night.

“The ship of safety is still in the distance — the land of safety further away still,” he cautioned.

The left caucus of MPs was launching its new pamphlet, The Socialist Policies We Need, and had evidently underestimated enthusiasm — with would-be attendees lining the corridor outside the overflowing room, craning to hear the speakers.
