Ten of the 72 workers at the Fife site, which produces whisky, gin, and vodka, could be axed as part of a wider job-cutting drive across the global drinks giant’s operations.
At a meeting with union representatives on Wednesday morning, bosses made clear their intention to launch a formal consultation on cutting posts, prompting GMB Scotland to escalate from targeted stoppages to all-out strikes on October 12, 15, 19, and 22.
GMB Scotland organiser Daniel Reid told members: “The company has chosen not to properly consider the concerns, idea and solutions raised by the workforce.
“The reasons given for these changes have shifted throughout the process, but one thing has remained constant: the impact on workers.
“These proposals create uncertainty for some members, significant change for others and increased pressure on those left behind.
“By standing together, we can send a clear message that the workforce expects to be listened to, respected and treated fairly.”
