Yemen and Lebanon to work towards halting Hezbollah support for Houthis, minister says

Yemen's Foreign Minister Afrah al-Zouba has said her government will take joint measures with Lebanon to halt Hezbollah's support to Houthis.

In a post on X, which came after the meeting of Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Yemen's Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, al-Zouba said her government appreciated Lebanon's support for Yemen’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, and "rejection of any military intervention in its internal affairs".

"We affirm the importance of building on this position through coordination between the relevant authorities in our two countries to follow up on our government’s announcement regarding the role of Hezbollah members in supporting the military operations of the terrorist Houthi militia," she wrote.

"We reaffirm Yemen’s support for Lebanon’s sovereignty, security, and stability, and for the Lebanese state’s efforts to extend its authority over its entire territory and to retain exclusive control over weapons and decisions of war and peace," al-Zouba added.
