US signs security deal to build two military bases in Greenland

US President Donald Trump signed a security agreement on Tuesday with leaders from Greenland and Denmark which will allow the US to build two military bases in southern and eastern Greenland.

"The United States shall be allowed to establish an additional Defense Area at Narsarsuaq and Mestersvig in accordance with modalities and technical details to be mutually agreed by the Parties," the deal said.

“It’s going to be a long-term, fantastic relationship,” Trump said after signing the deal in a ceremony on the sidelines of the main event.
