US sanctions ten over allegedly procuring weapons for Iran
The US has sanctioned 10 individuals and entities that allegedly procured weapons and weapons components for Iran's Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics, the US Treasury Department's website showed on Tuesday.
The sanctioned individuals include a China-based representative of the Iranian Defence Ministry and representatives of several firms, based in Iran, Hong Kong and Pakistan, that allegedly procure components used for Iranian weapons development, according to the US Treasury.
In a statement, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the US “will continue to target and disrupt those who provide material, technological or financial support that allows the Iranian regime to sustain its terrorist enterprise”.
