Three Syrian power plants down after gas pipeline explosion

Syria's electricity company said in a statement on Wednesday that three power plants were out of service after a gas pipeline explosion at the Tishreen plant halted gas supplies needed to operate them.

The fire caused by the explosion was still ongoing, it added.
