Spain's prime minister slams Israel’s genocide in Gaza during UN speech
Spanish prime minister Pedro Sanchez has condemned Israel for its genocide in Gaza during his address to the United Nations General Assembly.
Sanchez said that Spain condemns "unequivocally a genocide that Netanyahu is still perpetrating in Gaza".
He added that his country has opposed "all wars of aggression wherever they have started, whether it’s in Ukraine, Lebanon or Iran" for the past eight years.
"We have refused to increase our military spending… and we’ve done everything possible to avoid aggressions that ran counter to the UN Charter," Sanchez said.
He also indicated that Madrid was committed to "placing sanctions on Russian aggressors, imposing an arms embargo on the Netanyahu government of Israel and prohibiting the use of our territory to deploy an aggression that was against international law".
