Recap: Iran says war with US not over

Iran and the United States remain at odds over the Strait of Hormuz after President Donald Trump rejected Tehran’s proposal to reopen the waterway. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran was still waiting for an official response through mediators and would not abandon its conditions for reopening the strait.

Iran’s army chief, General Amir Hatami, meanwhile said the war was not over and that Tehran needed to consolidate what he called its victory, while Iranian officials have threatened attacks on US ships in the Indian Ocean if a new war breaks out.
