No Iranian oil exports in September: Bessent
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has claimed in a post on X that “Iran loaded ZERO crude oil onto tankers in September”.
The US has blockaded Iranian ports since April in an attempt to thwart Iranian exports, the most profitable of which is oil sold principally to China.
The blockade, which Bessent claimed is severing Tehran "economic lifeline", has deepened Iran's inflation crisis, but had also long been blighted by reports of ships passing through it in spite of US efforts to contain them.
Iran loaded ZERO crude oil onto tankers in September. The Trump Administration is cutting off the Iranian regime’s most critical source of revenue.
