Israel criticises 'grotesque absurdity' of Macron's speech
Israel has hit back at French President Emmanuel Macron after he called the situation in Gaza a "spectacle that shames us all" and criticised Israeli actions in the occupied West Bank in remarks delivered to the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Tuesday.
In a statement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said "the grotesque absurdity of Emmanuel Macron's statement is staggering."
Netanyahu is expected to deliver an address to the UN headquarters on Thursday.
