Iran summons UK envoy over 'false accusations' of suspected RAF Fairford plot
Iran's foreign ministry has summoned the British ambassador over claims that a sabotage plot against a British airbase was linked to Tehran, state broadcaster IRIB is reporting.
According to the report, Majid Takht-Ravanchi, the ministry’s political deputy, summoned the British envoy to Tehran over "false accusations" relating to a suspected plot against the UK airbase RAF Fairford.
Takht-Ravanchi rejected the claims and demanded that the UK government provide an explanation for its "inappropriate approach towards Iran".
