Iran slams Israeli killing of former Hezbollah leader on second anniversay, demands justice

Iran’s Foreign Ministry denounced Israel’s assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah on the second anniversary of his killing as a "heinous and unforgivable crime".

"Undoubtedly, neither the passage of time nor the repetition and accumulation of crimes will cause the slightest disruption to the demand for justice and the punishment of the criminals," the ministry said, calling on the international community to hold those responsible for his death accountable. 

On 27 September, 2024, Israel launched an intense bombardment campaign on the southern suburbs of Lebanon’s capital of Beirut, killing Nasrallah and dozens of other civilians in the process.
