Hamas hits back at Ben Gvir after video shows him threatening Palestinian detainee

Hamas slammed Israeli far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir after he posted a video of himself threatening to kill Palestinian prisoner Hassan Salameh.

The Palestinian movement said that the "provocative video" reflects another crime in the list of Israel's "flagrant violation of all international laws," but added that the intimidation "will not weaken his resolve or that of our prisoners".

"We have exerted - and will continue to exert- every possible effort, at all levels and through all means, to secure the release of our prisoners from the occupation's jails," the movement vowed in its latest statement.

"We remain committed to this pledge until they attain their freedom."

It added that the "fate of Ben Gvir and his ilk - leaders of the fascist entity - will be the same as that of other war criminals throughout history".
