Gaza death toll rises after seven Palestinians killed in 24 hours

Gaza's death toll has reached 74,229 after seven more Palestinians were killed by Israel in the last 24 hours, the enclave's health ministry reports.

The ministry said that seven Palestinians have been killed and 20 others wounded in Israeli attacks in the last 24 hours. The figure includes two people who succumbed to injuries from previous attacks and one whose body was retrieved from rubble.

According to the ministry, some 1,445 Palestinians have been killed, 5,052 wounded and 835 bodies have been recovered from under the rubble since the so-called "ceasefire" came into effect in October 2024.

On Thursday, thousands gathered for a mass funeral for over 100 bodies belonging to victims trapped beneath the debris of a residential tower, which was flattened by Israeli strikes at the beginning of the genocide in October 2023.
