Canada, Croatia call for two-state solution, Angola condemns settler expansion

Canadian and Croatian prime ministers, and Angolan president, joined a chorus of world leaders who have condemned genocide against Palestinians and called for a two-state solution at the UN General Assembly.

Mark Carney: Canadian Prime Minister said Canada’s support for a two-state solution is “longstanding and resolute”.
In a post on X, Carney said that Canada had joined the UK, France and Saudi Arabia at the UN to bring partners together and discuss “how we can create the conditions for a lasting peace, where Israelis and Palestinians can live side by side in safety and dignity”.

Joao Lourenco: Angolan President condemned “the genocide against defenceless populations, the elderly, women, children, bedridden patients, health professionals, journalists, and workers of international humanitarian organisations”, who he said are often denied access to “the most basic human rights and essentials like water, food and medicine”, in Palestine.
Lourenco said that the “expulsion of Palestinians from their homes through the expansion of Jewish settlements in the West Bank must elicit the strongest international outrage and condemnation”.

Andrej Plenkovic: Croatian Prime Minister said that “protection of civilians, unhindered humanitarian access, respect for international law and a credible political horizon are essential to breaking the cycle of violence” in Palestine.
He said Croatia supports a “negotiated two-state solution in which Israelis and Palestinians will live in peace and security”.
