Araghchi tells UN's Guterres that Iran will 'never stop demanding justice'

Iran's foreign minister told UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres that Tehran will "never stop demanding justice" against orchestrators of "war crimes", making reference to US  and Israel. 

Abbas Araghchi stressed to Guterres that Iran will  continue to defend its national sovereignty and territorial integrity, adding that "the Iranian nation will never stop demanding justice and holding accountable and punishing the perpetrators and perpetrators of the US and Zionist war crimes".

"Iran has always been steadfast in using diplomatic tools to protect its national interests and ensure peace in the region, but the United States has repeatedly betrayed diplomacy over the past decade and, by breaking its promise, has caused insecurity in the region," he said. 

The Iranian foreign minister also highlighted what he described as Israel's "genocide and war-mongering" in Palestine, Lebanon, Syria and other countries.

Araghchi pointed to these violations as a reminder to the UN and the Security Council of the "responsibility to end Israel's impunity and stop the crimes committed in Gaza and the West Bank".
