Philippines: Calls on DHL to end anti-union activity, low wages and wage theft

“To address long-standing grievances such as low wages and wage theft, workers at DHL Supply Chain's Sucat warehouse in Muntinlupa formed a union and won the union recognition election on May 29, 2026. Instead of negotiating with the union, management announced the closure of the warehouse, citing the non-renewal of the contract with the supermarket chain. The workers saw this as an attempt to break up the union, especially since DHL announced in December that it had signed a three-year contract. With negotiations stalled and their jobs at stake, workers went on strike on August 17, demanding that DHL sign a collective agreement and guarantee their jobs if the Sucat warehouse reopens.“LabourStart campaign from 03-Sep-2026
