Combines drag with burlesque: Sirena Soul has been on stage for a year

The brush glides precisely over the eyelid, a black line of eyeliner traces the contours. 23-year-old Sirena Soul sits in front of the mirror, calmly doing her make-up. “Soldiers of Love” by Sade is playing in the background. “I grew up with Sade,” she says, looking briefly in the mirror before putting on her lipstick. Nevertheless, she has only performed to the singer's music once. "Choosing a song is a pretty difficult topic for any artist." Soul has been performing as a drag artist for a little over a year. “I am greatly inspired by the sea and mystical creations.” Hence her name, she explains.

The powder dusts lightly as she taps off the brush. “We generally don’t repeat our numbers,” she continues. She is also wearing the outfit that she is about to present for the first time. Many of the queens with whom she now shares the stage had their baptism at the “Drag Ball”. The event only celebrated its premiere last year. It was brought to life by Leona Love, who is a kind of Armenian drag mother for Soul. Love wanted new faces; The drag ball was intended to motivate the youngsters. Soul was part of this. “I had a problem with my outfit,” she says looking back and laughing. When she tried to get rid of part of her outfit, it got stuck.
