The RCI is mobilising to defend the Cuban Revolution!

Suffocated by US imperialism, Cuba is facing the most perilous crisis in its history. Sections of the RCI from across the planet are mobilising worldwide in October to defend the Cuban Revolution!

Already in the US itself, the Revolutionary Communists of America are preparing a campaign in solidarity with the Cuban people and against their common enemy, US imperialism! They have planned rallies across ten major cities backed up by a coordinated social media campaign.

In Canada, too, the Revolutionary Communist Party is hosting public meetings on the Cuban Revolution in Toronto (25 and 26 September) and Edmonton (October), as well as a day school in Vancouver on the fight against imperialism. Across the entire country, local branches are preparing to get involved in solidarity events and broadcast them on social media.

But this is just the start. All over the world, sections of the RCI are preparing rallies, pickets outside embassies, and open meetings in defence of the Cuban Revolution. If you are planning to mobilise, send your plans or reports to cuba-solidarity@marxist.com

There has never been a more critical time to stand up for Cuba. Since 1959, the Cuban Revolution – the overthrow of capitalism just 90 miles away from the biggest imperialist power in the world – has inspired workers and youth worldwide.

Ever since, the United States has tried everything to destroy the Revolution, including invasion and a criminal blockade that has left Cuba isolated, vulnerable, and hungry.

But since the attack on Venezuela on 3 January, US imperialism has felt emboldened to tighten its strangulation of the island, cutting sources of energy and income. They are pushing Cuba towards a humanitarian catastrophe, with the aim of forcing it to surrender.

The loss of the Cuban Revolution would be a blow to the world working class. The only way forward is to fight for a world socialist revolution.

Therefore, the Revolutionary Communist International unconditionally defends the Revolution and its conquests, which were achieved on the basis of the planned economy.

This summer, the leadership of the RCI unanimously approved a statement on the Cuban revolution and its future, which is available here.
