Death to NATO!

As part of the NATO maneuvers, we loudly took to the street in Altona on Friday. There were protests against the Federal Republic of Germany's preparations for war throughout the weekend. Together we made it clear that NATO would not have a safe home base in our city.

As large Rheinmetall locations, Hamburg and Cologne were just the beginning. While our cities are being devastated by austerity, the Federal Republic of Germany is investing billions in rearmament. Corporations, like VW in Osnabrück, are switching their production to war. At the same time, Bremen, as one of the poorest federal states in Germany, wants to participate in the militarization of the North Sea. A new naval base is to be built in Emden. We must not look at cities in isolation as armaments sites, but rather recognize the role our neighborhoods play in military mobility for Germany and NATO. The Baltic Sea in particular is opening up additional opportunities for warmongers as NATO expands to include Finland and Sweden.

Hamburg, Lübeck, Rostock, Bremen – The North wants to go to war, we don’t! We must unite and organize the resistance!
