Solidarity with those affected by the sexual abuse of Boris Palmer (Mayor of Tübingen)

Last Monday, November 2nd, 2026, a person who was formerly a member of the Tübingen municipal council addressed the public with two self-written reports. In these, the person describes being initially overwhelmed with advances and compliments by the mayor of Tübingen, Boris Palmer. This was followed by persistent pressure for private meetings and physical advances until a kind of emotional dependence developed and the person concerned gave in. It went on to show how erratic (at times respectful and courteous, at times aggressive, ignorant and boundary-crossing) Palmer behaved and how physical boundaries, even though they were clearly stated, were repeatedly crossed in the same way.

Although the person concerned felt a lasting responsibility to deal with Palmer's abusive behavior together with himself, he never showed any lasting insight. Quite the opposite: he always actively downplayed his behavior. In addition, he sent, among other things, dick pics and feet pictures from his youngest son's bed, which only became apparent because of the surroundings of the room shown. His wife didn't seem to know about any of this. The reports also show that Palmer used guilt tripping to pressure the person concerned into sexual acts in his office in the Tübingen town hall and shortly afterwards treated them in a derogatory manner

 

Of course, this long-term ordeal was not without consequences for the mental health of the person affected and resulted in constant tension, depression, self-harm and ultimately a suicide attempt. The descriptions of these violent acts are very close and leave reasonably empathetic readers deeply shocked. Nevertheless, most of the leading media that reported on this could not think of anything better than to put the real name of the person concerned in the headlines and to stylize Palmer almost as an innocent lamb, despite this very impressive evidence and descriptions, in combination with his very dominant, impulsive and aggressive behavior, for which he is well known in public anyway. It also appears that most media companies just copy paste the report and don't even bother to read the documents in their entirety or quote from them. Then, for example, you wouldn't write about a "woman" who was "sexually harassed", but about a trans*-identical person who describes being exposed to emotional and sexualized abuse over a long period of time and in the end almost had to pay for it with her life.

Or is everyone now afraid of being overlooked by Germany's most feared media lawyer Christian Schertz, who has represented perpetrators such as Till Lindemann and Christian Ulmen, with warnings and lawsuits because Palmer hired him? The person concerned has already been advised not to comment publicly anymore and is also not allowed to ensure that the originally published documents are made accessible again. The person concerned is silenced.

We don't want to just accept that and provide access to the documents in this article. The affected person is pictured in one of these, but we have decided to make it unrecognizable. Please only read the documents if you feel stable enough or at least read them with someone you trust.
