What is happening in schools and on the streets in France, and in some cases spreading to other countries, deserves our interest. It is a struggle of the proletariat with its characteristic content and means: resistance to the unacceptable conditions of capitalism, solidarity, open general assemblies, discussion for clarification, expansion of the struggle.
The school and student movement has reached spectacular proportions in France and has quickly spread across the entire national territory. Hundreds of high schools have been blocked since mid-September. Students quickly joined the mobilization, soon followed by hundreds of thousands of demonstrators of all ages outraged by the repression against young people. This movement joins an impressive series of struggles worldwide and heralds a profound change in the social climate - a prelude to future mass struggles. Why do we need to expand the movement and why do employees, pensioners and unemployed people also need to join? What lessons from the massive movement against the discriminatory CPE law in France in 2006, the Indignados, but also other mass struggles, give us orientation for today's struggle? How do we have to organize ourselves? Why are general assemblies of pupils and students groundbreaking? What strategy is the ruling class using with its brutal repressive apparatus against us? etc.
We will make a short introduction at the beginning. But the focus of the event is the discussion!
