We will watch the documentary "Young Antifa", followed by a discussion about the state of the anti-fascist movement in Russia. The film tells the story of Bogdan Y. and a group of young people from the Russian provinces. Because they printed anti-fascist T-shirts and sold them on social media, they came under surveillance by the Russian secret services. They were accused of founding an “extremist organization.” The result: criminal proceedings, long prison sentences, flight into exile - and losses within their own circle.

The story of these young people exemplifies the reality of many young anti-fascists and anarchists in Russia. We talk about how young people end up in the wheels of state repression through the most banal actions and receive severe prison sentences - but also about how comrades who remained free or fled into exile continue to support them.

The film was produced in 2023 by the independent documentary film project ROMB. The project has now been classified as a “foreign agent” by the Russian state and its work has been blocked. Some of the filmmakers are now working on documentaries for No Future.

The film will be shown in Russian with German subtitles. The discussion will take place in English. If necessary, it can also be interpreted into German using a whispered translation.
