Statement on the death of Henry

CN: Suicide

Henry, accused in the Antifa East complex, died on October 24, 2026 as a result of a suicide attempt.

We express our deep condolences to the family, his friends, his environment and (former) companions.

Our feelings alternate between sadness, memories of him and also anger.

Anger at journalists who didn't give the family and those around them 24 hours of mourning. Anger at neo-Nazis who cannot leave him in peace even after his death. Anger at the court because it repeatedly made it more difficult for him to receive therapeutic and medical support and, for the most part, did not provide it.

We understand that (his) lawyers point out the injustices and even illegal actions of the authorities against Henry and other anti-fascists in Leipzig and Saxony. Antifascists have always been the focus of the repressive authorities (*). The SoKo LinX has carried out the criminalization and prosecution of anti-fascist activities in Saxony in particular.

Henry and his family felt this again and again. Henry's last years were marked by repression and public defamation against him by the authorities and neo-Nazis, which was very stressful for him, his family and his social environment.

But in addition to these facts, there are others. We're mad at Henry too. But we can no longer resolve this with him. We don't want his person and his life to be judged in public, so we won't do that here. We want this to be respected. Especially since the criminal proceedings against the construct of an alleged anti-fascist criminal organization are continuing.

We don't think the shortening that we've often read in recent days, that the state killed him, is correct. Our aim is not to absolve government bodies of their shared responsibility, but it is not as easy as some people think.

Despite all the sadness and emotional shock, it is important to parts of the family, those who accompanied him over the last few years, and to us that Henry's death is not exploited. We therefore ask you to refrain from any high-profile actions. As anti-fascists who have been and have been affected by this repression in different ways in Saxony for decades, it feels wrong.

It is particularly important for us to support those who are suffering the most at the moment: Henry's family, who have to come to terms with this loss.

We would therefore like to collect donations for the family so that they are not left alone with the effects of death.
