We invite you to the lecture “A Matter of Honor Antifeminism – Fraternities and Their Fight Against Gender Political Change” by Judith Goetz on October 15th. a!

The lecture is dedicated to the connection between German national fraternities and anti-feminism. The focus is on the question of what significance the men's form of organization has for maintaining traditional gender relations and hegemonic ideas of masculinity.

Based on the reactions of the fraternities to the first women's movement, it is traced how anti-feminist patterns of argument persist across different historical phases and adapt to new social developments. The focus ranges from the defense of supposedly “natural” gender roles to current debates about gender mainstreaming, feminist achievements and the recognition of gender diversity.

Come over! We look forward to seeing you!
