The war in Sudan - an unnoticed international catastrophe

Largely ignored by the media, a war between two generals has been raging in Sudan for over three years, triggering the world's largest humanitarian disaster and a widespread political crisis. International powers are promoting war through arms deliveries to enforce imperialist interests. For the population, the war means bombings, massacres, mass rapes, famine, destruction of infrastructure and displacement. Human rights organizations and the UN describe parts of the war as genocide. We provide information about the background to the war, the warring parties and their international supporters, as well as regional effects. We talk about the civilian population's striving for democracy and the courageous activism of many people in Sudan.
