Most recently, a racist attack on a Leoben taxi driver once again demonstrated the violent nature of Austrian fraternity members. The taxi driver no longer wanted to drive people to the 140th foundation festival of the striking Leder fraternity after shouting “Sieg Heil” and was therefore brutally attacked by fraternity members. One of many so-called “isolated cases”.

German national fraternities stand for ethnic nationalism, Nazi glorification and Holocaust denial. However, their extremely anti-Semitic, anti-queer, racist, elitist and misogynistic world view does not represent an isolated fringe phenomenon. Rather, German nationalist fraternities are the headquarters of local right-wing extremism and serve as a hinge between the FPÖ in parliament and the neo-Nazism on the street.

There are many reasons to pay an anti-fascist visit to the "stalls" of German national fraternities. However, our protest is not limited to being against individual acts of violence or a specific form of student corporation. Our aim is to attempt to attack the existing social conditions, which provide a foundation for reactionary formations of all stripes.

So come out with us on the streets in large numbers so that we can resolutely oppose the brown pack of boys while we go shopping for anti-fascist stalls!
